Welcome to the Classics section. Every week, we revisit two Hindi songs… one from the Pre-90s era and one from the Post-90s. Today, we start with a legendary duo and a soothing melody from the late 90s.
1. Ek Rasta Do Raahi – Ram Balram (1980)
- Singers: Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar
- Music: Laxmikant-Pyarelal
- Lyrics: Anand Bakshi
This is a fun, playful track featuring the voices of Rafi and Kishore together, making it an absolute delight to listen to. The chemistry between the two legends is palpable, but the special highlight has to be the rhythmic “aha aha” part that stays with you long after the song ends.
Na mit sake naseebo ke kalam ki siyahi Aha aha siyahi aha aha…

2. Pyar Ko Ho Jaane Do – Dushman (1998)
- Singers: Lata Mangeshkar, Kumar Sanu
- Music: Uttam Singh
- Lyrics: Anand Bakshi
A lovely, melodious romantic duet by Lata Mangeshkar and Kumar Sanu that is incredibly pleasant to the ears. It captures the soft, melodic essence of the late 90s perfectly. Also, watch out for the violin piece at the very end of the song… it’s a beautiful touch.
Pyar ke beech mein hum nahi aayenge, Jis taraf le chala dil chale jayenge…
